Made for You: Why Lake Pals Is Made on Demand

There’s something special about making something just for you. Months before the first Lake Pals shirt ever arrived at your door, there were sketches, ideas, conversations, designs, revisions, strategy, and a whole lot of dreaming about what this brand could become. We wanted to create something that felt like the lake—not just another collection of shirts, but something that captured the people, places, humor, and unforgettable moments that make lake life so special. And after months of design, strategy, and execution, we’re incredibly excited to finally share Lake Pals with you.

One of the ways we're doing that is through print-on-demand. When you order a Lake Pals product, it is made especially for you after you place your order. That means it can take a little longer to arrive than something sitting on a warehouse shelf, but we think there's something pretty great about that. Making products when they're needed instead of producing huge quantities in advance helps reduce overproduction and unnecessary waste. So thank you for making a thoughtful purchasing decision and giving us the opportunity to make something specifically for you.

We also care about what we're putting on your back. Many Lake Pals products are made primarily from cotton, including our classic unisex tee made from 100% cotton. It has a substantial 5.0–5.3 oz/yd² fabric weight, taped neck and shoulders, and double-stitched sleeves and bottom hem, giving it the structure and durability we want in a shirt that might spend its life on boats, docks, beaches, cabins, and around campfires. Some color variations naturally contain small amounts of polyester, and even the little imperfections—like the occasional off-white appearance of a white tee or natural-colored fabric speckles—are characteristics of the material itself. In other words, it's made to be worn, lived in, and taken to the lake.

We've also chosen to build Lake Pals on Shopify, one of the world's most trusted ecommerce platforms, with secure payment processing that makes checking out simple. You can shop from your phone or computer and pay easily with a credit or debit card, while our print-on-demand partners take care of producing and shipping your order. Behind that simple “Buy Now” button is a whole team of people and businesses helping bring the idea of Lake Pals to life.

And that's something we don't take for granted. Lake Pals has taken months of design, strategy, creativity, technology, and execution to get here.
